Born in the U.S., he came to Japan at the age of 23 and began his acting career in earnest. His father is an American actor, James Remar, who has appeared in many dramas. He has appeared in many American dramas before coming to Japan, partly due to his father's influence. He is skilled in martial arts such as aikido and kendo, and is a master of swordsmanship. Thanks to his training, he is physically balanced.
